How do I choose paint colours for the walls in my home or office?

There are many factors that can influence your choices of colour for the interior of your home. It will depend on if you are painting one room or all the rooms in your house. You will want to consider what the room is being used for and the size of the room. You will also look for rooms to complement each other when you are moving from one room to another or which rooms you can see from one location. Get inspiration from your furniture, rug or pictures in the room, or pick colours from the natural world around you. Do I have to move everything out of cabinets for painting?

If you’re getting your cabinets painted, you likely don’t have to move everything out of the cabinets, unless we are painting the interior as well. What type of weather should I avoid when getting my house painted?

You’ll want to avoid below freezing temperatures and heavy rain when painting the exterior of your house. Rain and humidity can pose times we wish to avoid. Weather conditions aren’t always ideal but some of the factors to consider are the type of paint, whether the area can be covered, and the type of surface being painted. We monitor the weather and adjust accordingly.

What questions should I ask a professional painter?

If you’re selecting a painting contractor, there are some questions you’ll want to ask to make sure you both understand the project. Here are some questions you may want to ask about your painting project:

  1. Understand the pricing in the quote
  2. What is the timeline for the project and when the painters will be able to start
  3. References or other projects that showcase their painting services
  4. Insurance coverage
  5. What is the painting process and what prep work will be required on the project
  6. Do I need to move my furniture or wall art out of the way?
  7. What kind of paint will be used and how you will care for it

This should help you choose the right professional painter for your project.
